I picked up some paint at Walmart and originally planned on spray painting it with a drop cloth attached to the ceiling to keep the walls paint-free. However, when I got home, I realized there was a "scratch-like" finish on the piece to make it look old and I was afraid painting directly over the piece would cover that up.
I decided to spray the paint into a bowl and then use a sponge to paint it on, giving a more sheer finish. It worked, and while the difference is subtle. I definitely notice it matches by other light fixtures much better.
I also tried soaking the globes several times in tea and baking them, with no luck. I did get them a little darker but nowhere near the tea stained look I was hoping to match on my other kitchen pendants. Guess I'll have to swap them out with others.
