Finishing Touches

Since I was able to snag a few freebies from my shower decor I decided to add a few more finishing touches onto the nursery to finalize it.  I found a photo on Kirkland's website for inspiration so decided to copy their idea and do one of my own.  

Fish Wall Plaque $21.99

I found the fish wall plaque to be too large for my purposes so instead I ended up purchasing this adorable whale for $24.99 (with a $15 off $50 purchase - I had some more stuff to buy) instead.  I had the anchor free from the nautical shower and picked up a net from Hobby Lobby.  

In the end I hung all three on the wall in a similar fashion to the Kirkland's setup.

At my shower I received some adorable nautical sheets I had registered for at Babies R Us so I added those onto the crib.

I also added a DIY shelf to one of the walls.  I picked up a piece of plywood at Home Depot for $4 and had it cut to 3x1.  Then I drilled holes in each of the four corners and tied some rope I ordered from Amazon for $7.67, knotting it underneath the holes to secure.  I used some hooks I already had and hung it up on the wall.  Adding some of the decor I got from Hobby Lobby finished the look.
